June 12, 2021
The Centennial Celebration of Spearman Texas, also known as Heritage Days, was to be held in 2020 but the shutdown due to COVID resulted in a postponement to 2021.
And then the event, along with Spearman’s All Class reunion, was held on June 11th to June 12th of this year.
I was honored to be invited as a guest to be part of the events, which included parades, school reunions and live entertainment. Many vendors also lined main street on June 12th and I was given a location to have my books available at a “Meet the Author/Book Signing” event.
After setting up my location, things got very busy with the parade and a lot of folks, from the Spearman and surrounding areas and the alumni from the schools who were in town for the celebration. So busy in fact that taking pictures while at the table and signing books became impossible.
At the end of the day, the event was a good one – spoke with lots of people, sold and signed books, and handed out business cards and book markers to numerous folks.
And it was great to attend the reunion and reminisce with old High School schoolmates with many traveling from far away places to attend.
